luca launches its own POS system

‍

Berlin, 5 August 2026. luca has successfully completed the pilot phase of its own point-of-sale (POS) system. The first venues have been working with luca POS for several weeks, from the first order to closing the till. From now on, further venues that want to use the POS system can register. With the POS system, luca is expanding its hospitality platform and bringing operational processes, guest management and payments together in one system.

The goal is to make everyday work easier for businesses: instead of running several stand-alone solutions in parallel, operators get one clear platform from a single provider with luca. The new POS system integrates directly into the existing luca ecosystem and makes the key processes at the counter and at the table easy to manage – without any IT knowledge.

luca POS started with counter service. Currently, the POS system is primarily aimed at smaller, owner-run venues. In the long term, luca will open the system to the entire hospitality industry – including hotels.

‍
Everything on one platform – from check-in to payment
With the new POS system, luca is expanding its existing features, which already include digital payments, ordering solutions, check-ins, AI-supported guest communication, and marketing and analytics solutions.

‍
Modular and flexible
The luca platform is modular: businesses can book and combine individual features. For example, the luca Pay payment solution can also be used independently of the POS system. This lets restaurateurs and hoteliers tailor the platform to their needs.

‍
More efficiency, better overview
One focus is on ease of use. luca POS offers clear dashboards and reduces administrative complexity. This allows staff to focus more on the guest experience, while operators keep an overview at all times.

‍
Another step towards the digital future of hospitality
“Launching our own POS system is a logical next step in developing our platform into a holistic solution for the hospitality industry,” says Patrick Hennig, CEO and co-founder of luca. “Our goal is to help businesses work more efficiently while offering a modern guest experience.”
